21 Jun Company fined after workers put in danger
Food production company, Quality Food Products (Aberdeen) Ltd has been fined £10,000 on the 17th May 2018 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, for allowing workers to carry out unsafe work at height.
The unsafe acts included standing on the prongs of a fork lift truck which had a wooden pallet attached to it to assess the roof and throwing materials to the ground.
Risks identified included falls from height due to a lack of a safe method of accessing the roof and falling objects that could injure people on the ground. Offences included breaching Regulation 6 (3) of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
